Starting El’s Fashion Fix has been the highlight of my year and as 2014 is coming to a close, I have decided to look back and share my favourite outfits of the year, a perfect way to reflect with my lovely fashion followers!
Since starting my blog earlier this year I have been on a magical style journey and I have seen my collection of outfits grow and become more varied. I feel that my style has evolved and grown in so many ways over the past year and I now I have my very own signature style!
During 2014 I’ve especially enjoyed playing with different trends and styles and also experimenting with different textures and colours. I have also realised that I have a great love for Fedoras, a deep obsession with blanket capes and an addiction to tartan!
My love for all things fashion has continued to grow through 2014 and I am already looking forward to the new styles of 2015. My fashion resolution for the New Year is to add more colour to my wardrobe as I always seem to be attracted to dark shades when choosing what to wear and when shopping for clothes. I am looking forward to experimenting more with colour.
I hope you have as much fun looking through my favourite outfits as I had choosing them! Don’t forget to let me know below which outfits you like best and why!

(Please note – I am not trying to brag or show off in any way! This is simply a fun, festive post, sharing the lovely gifts that have been kindly gifted to me with love. Please enjoy reading! I am so grateful for every single thing I receive and will treasure each dearly!)

Hey there fashion friends and a very happy Saturday to you all! Oh my, Christmas is so close now! Just 4 sleeps until the big day arrives! I am proud to say I have finally finished my Christmas shopping, woohoo! How are you getting on with yours? One thing I am really looking forward to is the sales! I can’t wait to see what fashion finds I will discover ;). Purses at the ready!
When shooting today’s OOTD the weather was super windy! Even though the wind was being a pain I still had lots of fun taking outfit photos and I’m really pleased with how they’ve turned out! In fact, I think the wind adds a special extra something to today’s photos. I hope you like them 🙂
If you follow me on Instagram you may recognise the stylish cape in today’s outfit! I shared a quick pic of this gorgeous garment on social media a few weeks ago. This beautiful blanket cape is my latest thrifty find which I discovered in my local charity shop! I’m sure you’re all aware of my great love for blanket capes, so you can only imagine my excitement when I discovered this gorgeous version priced up at only £3.99 I HAD to have it! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Under £5, for a blanket cape, yes please! I’m still in shock at discovering this beauty; the dogtooth print is just gorgeous! I really like the grey/black colour mix it looks so striking! I adore the fit of this fashionable cape, it hangs beautifully and is a dream to wear. The fleecy material is lovely and soft which is perfect for keeping warm while looking stylish in winter! I’m so in love with my latest fashion find and couldn’t be happier with my discovery! Being totally on trend this season and perfect for winter I couldn’t be happier with my latest fashion fix! Who said charity shops aren’t fashionable?
Wednesday 17th December 2014
Hi there lovely fashionistas and how are you on this festive Wednesday evening? This time next week it will be Christmas Eve! How exciting! I really do love Christmas and can’t wait to spend quality time with my nearest and dearest. Who can’t wait for the holiday season to officially begin? I know I can’t!
How effective is monochrome? I just love this powerful colour combination. It always looks so striking and bold! Monochrome is one of my most loved colour combinations. I really enjoy wearing this fashionable mix, it always makes me feel super stylish and the best thing is, it’s always in fashion! The gorgeous monochrome skater skirt in today’s OOTD is one of my favourites. I purchased it from New Look a while ago and still love it more than ever! I adore the eye catching monochrome design and flattering skirt style.
I decided to style the skater skirt with a plain black jumper from H&M to enhance the monochrome look. This jumper is such a versatile item and at £14.99 a great price too. The fit is ideal; the sleeves aren’t too long and the length isn’t too short – which makes this the perfect jumper for tucking into skirts (like in today’s OOTD) or wearing over jeans. The material is lovely and soft – just right for keeping warm in winter! This fashionable jumper is available in numerous shades, including a bright red and pale baby pink, all equally beautiful! I’m so tempted to purchase more colours.
